Rachel Platten has whizzed her way up the charts, jumping 67 places in just one week to take the number one spot with her new single ‘Fight Song’.
The track has already made the top 100 in the US, as well as Canada, Belgium and New Zealand.
‘Fight Song’ came less than 3000 combined chart sales ahead of second in the chart Felix Jaehn’s ‘Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better)’ which features Jasmine Thompson.
Rachel said “I feel so excited and so proud that ‘Fight Song’ has hit number 1 on the Official Singles Chart, I can’t really believe it. It’s amazing to me that this song that I wrote when I was going through one of the hardest times in my life is also the thing that made my dreams come true. I’m just kind of overwhelmed and really grateful.”
Elsewhere in the charts this week, Jess Glynne’s track ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ rolls down to number 3 with Calvin Harris and Disciples ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ coming in at number 4.
The biggest climber in the top 40 this week is Ella Eyre’s new single ‘Good Times’ moving a huge 143 places to reach 37.
Re-entries to the chart include Rita Ora’s ‘Body On Me’, which moves up 13 places to 28, while Jess Glynne has a second single still in the chart, with ‘Hold My Hand’ rising to 40.
