So, what are podcasts and what is RSS all about?
Podcasts are basically RSS
feeds for audio, allowing users to subscribe to a feed of
new files (usually MP3s) such as the NonStopPlay.com Dance
Radio listen again shows.
Podcasting is an easy new way to automatically download
audio programs to your MP3 player through your computer.
You use free software to choose audio programs you like; the
software checks the internet regularly and starts a download
whenever it finds something new. A podcast is comparable to
an audio magazine subscription in that the subscriber
receives regular programs that they can listen to or view at
their own leisure.
Programs that support
podcast subscriptions include:
Apple iTunes (Mac and Windows)
Juice (Mac, Windows, and Linux)
Doppler (Windows)
HappyFish (Windows)
Nokia Podcasting App (Nokia/Symbian phones)
